my favorite of all your stuff.....can't stop staring man...at first, i wasn't all that impressed, until i saw that it was traditional. You sky, trees and ground aren't spectacular, but i struggle with making that shiny effect that you captured on the car in traditional watercolor. The composition and perspective just add so much more. Great Job!, and i'll be stopping by more often i hope.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. I haven't used watercolor for quite some time so I don't immediately have any pointers... hehe. I had a good time painting it and it's remained one of my favorite traditional works to date.
I hope you do drop by again, thanks a lot for the comments/feedback, I really appreciate it!
I think I'm in love.....
This painting is so touching, I just like old GM-pick-ups. And seeing her forgotten in a no-man's-land just breaks my heart, but still so sweetly...
Forgive me, I just happen to be a car freak, especially for the old ones.
And I also like to draw them myself... Anyway, WONDERFUL job!!
Hopefully this doesn't ruin the piece for you but it actually isn't as desolate as my portrayal looks. My parents own the truck and they were pulling it out of the barn and I snapped a photo of it in the middle of the field. It was on it's way to get overhauled, painted, and new interior. It's a sharp looking truck these days!
I painted the picture based off the photo I shot that day. I really liked how it turned out and I'm glad you like it too!
